Competition Timeline

  • Competition Period: November 2024 - April 2025
  • Team Roster Finalization: February 15, 2025
  • Written options appraisal due date: February 28, 2025
  • Final Presentations: April 11th, 2025, Merrill-Cazier Library

Mentor Role

  • Meet with assigned team, suggested time commitment of 1-2 hours monthly
  • Provide guidance on research approaches, project development, presentation and pitching

Competition Deliverables

Teams will produce:

  • Written Report (1750 words) examining potential solutions
  • 10-minute presentation with 5-minute Q&A

AI Policy

Teams may use AI tools for limited auxiliary purposes (brainstorming, fact-checking, proofreading) but must:

  • Declare any AI tool usage
  • Ensure core ideas and analysis are original work
  • Be able to explain and defend all aspects of their work
